Thomas Schori is the co-owner of one of the world’s leading watchstrap manufacturers, Braloba Group. He runs company owned factories in China, Thailand and Burma while the Headquarter of this family business is located in Switzerland, in the heart of the Swiss watchmaking industry.
3 years ago, Thomas was looking into the possibility of using ocean plastic for watchstraps. The innovative entrepreneur found out that no such thing had been attempted yet. Together with the Swiss University of Applied Sciences, he started researches on the damages of ocean plastic due to exposure to uv-rays, saltwater and sand and came up with an award-winnnig upcycling method. Tide Ocean was founded in 2019 as a Braloba Group spin-off and has continuosly grown: As of today, 200 projects from almost 100 brands are in Development or just being launched, as the Sea Creatures Watch from Shinola.
