The purpose of this chapter is to supply grade formulas. So, that you can refer to the charts, and numerically grade your production and approved sample specs, to each size of your market.
The grade rule charts to follow advise how much to increase, or decrease, the different garment dimensions for each size. The grades between sizes, are all recorded in total measurements, in this handbook. Therefore, if the Chest grade between sizes 2T and 3T is 1”, then the front chest and the back chest are each separately increased by 1/2”. Please keep this in mind especially when the grade is minute, as in a 1/4” Wrist grade, it is 1/4” total, and if you manufacture sweaters, your flat measurement will only be increased by 1/8”.
