SOURCING A,B,C’S
Samples and/or Sketches
by fashiondex.com
You need a sample–an actual item–the booth reps can see and hold. If you cannot bring an actual sample of your idea or item, then bring along a sketch–a detailed and straightforward sketch. At the very least, wear or bring a similar garment/item or mock your design up by fashioning it out of other items.
This is essential at global-production sourcing shows, as the representatives in the booths are from overseas countries and English is not always their first language. Therefore your concept will not be completely understood without a visual accompaniment. A description alone does not give the specifics required for a factory to determine whether they can realistically produce the item, how much the item will cost and how long the item will take to manufacture.
